Description
A gift for asylum seekers living on limited funds who may not have the necessary cold weather items for a British winter, but also provide games and activities and small treats such as chocolate and cosmetics. We work with accommodation centres to makes sure each pack is appropriately tailored for the age of the recipient, from newborns, older children, teenagers and adults. This year we’re looking to provide a staggering 850 winter packs even more than 735 from 2024!
Each pack costs us around £10 so purchasing one pack equates to helping one man, woman, or child living in initial accommodation this winter. In case you’re just doing the maths we need to raise an enormous £8500 in 2 months to achieve this goal – are we crazy – maybe…….
You can buy a pack (or 3) just t donate or you can buy them as a charity donation gift for a loved one, we’ll even send you out a thank you postcard to enable you to show that you’ve bought them a gift for someone in need (please put in the notes if you would like this)
Closing date for pack is 6 December ’25
The packs all contain roughly the same items but we tailor them to individuals by age and gender and we try and make each one a little different so they really feel like a thought out gift, in addition all the packs are put together in a reusable organic cotton tote bag which becomes part of the gift.
Winter packs are put together and distributed by the KHAR team at Christmas to people living in initial accommodation centres, each includes:
- Hats
- Gloves
- Socks
- Toiletries and cosmetics
- Chocolates
- Playing Cards/ Games/ Toys
- Colouring Books and pencils
